PEKALONGAN CITY OF BATIK

Pekalongan is a small city in Middle Java. This city is well known as Batik City. Why? Because most of the people are working as Batik Makers and Batik Sellers. Most of people around Indonesia from Sabang to Merauke are buying Pekalongan Batik for their School, Company, Goverment Instiution and many more. When I walked around this city and I found many batiks shop and showroom in every street even more than one shop in a street.

Different with batik, Pekalongan city also has many old buildings. Some of them are still quite good and well treatment and some of them are not. It is very lovely to walk along those old buildings. Besides that Pekalongan city is not as hectic as Jakarta. Most people go to work and school by riding their old bicycle, they are biking in groups along the way and you will feel the atmosphere like in another world and time.

Food, Pekalongan is also well known with Nasi Megono. Megono is from unripe Jackfruit. It is chop into small pieces and cook with some traditional ingredients like garlic, union salt etc. Mostly the origin people are eating megono rice everyday. Usually the eat megono rice with fried noodle, Most of the small canteen always selling megono everyday.
